our approach

The name Primitive Birthworks reflects my belief in preserving and supporting the primal intuitions that guide a mother through childbirth. As a woman of faith, I believe God has uniquely and purposefully designed a woman’s ability to birth.  I do not intend to take over or take away from a mother’s instinct—I am committed to supporting, informing, and nurturing it. Intentional prenatal care is an important aspect to protect birth outcomes. While I have personal and professional boundaries, I am also required to uphold specific safety standards as a licensed midwife in the state of Florida (Fla. Stat. § 467.003 (8)). This does not mean that a holistic approach to your care or treatment would be omitted.

At Primitive Birthworks, prenatal care goes beyond doing laboratory blood work and vitals; we discuss home and work environments, nutrition, fears, expectations, prayer, fellowship, and much more.

If you are seeking individualized and faith-centered midwifery care, let’s connect. It would be an honor to be part of your birth story.

For you formed my inmost being. You knit me together in my mother’s womb. I will give thanks to you, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made. Your works are wonderful. My soul knows that very well. - Psalms 139:13-14

What is a midwife?

Midwifery care is a long-established and evidence-based approach to pregnancy, childbirth, and postpartum that focuses on the mother as an active participant in their care. This model honors childbirth as a natural, life-affirming process while prioritizing the health and well-being of both mother and baby. Midwifery is rooted in millennia of tradition and supported by modern clinical knowledge; midwifery care is grounded in evidence-based, informed choice, and respect for physiological birth. Midwives are equipped with emergency protocols, tools, and medications to respond effectively to emergent situations. We undergo extensive years of clinical mentoring and are trained to be skilled in managing common birth emergencies. Midwives are dedicated to supporting autonomy and shared decision-making with parents.
